Pakenham Consolidated School Learn, Explore and Play (ELC)

We are a community based centre that provides long day care, before and after school and Vacation care for the children of Pakenham Consolidated School community. Our centre is managed by our school council, with a person nominated to oversee day to day operations. We are an approved centre, which gives parents the ability to access the Child Care Scheme (CCS) as a fee reduction.

We constantly strive to provide the best quality of care for the children who attend our centre by providing a fun and interactive weekly program in a caring and nurturing environment. We have a team of dedicated educators who are passionate about working with children.

Our service operates alongside our OSHC service between the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm. Our ELC service is either a 10hr or an 11hr day.

We offer care for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years of age. Our rooms are broken up in two age brackets:

• 6 weeks to 3 years – Nursery room. staff to child ratio 1:4 with a capacity of 15
• 3 to 5 years – Kinder room, staff to child ratio 1:11 with a capacity of 15

*Both the Nursery and Kinder rooms are subject to availibility.

The service offers 2 spacious yard spaces with the ability to join as one.

Our daily service fees are as follows:

0-3 (Nursery Room):         $118.00

3-5 (Kinder Room):      $108.00

All families who are entitled to CCS will have this applied to their daily fee. Our daily fee is inclusive of all nappies, sunscreen, meals and educational programs.  The family accounts for childcare run a week behind. We ask that all families please make sure all accounts are kept up to date at all times.

We strive to offer high community involvement with opportunities for the children to get out and about in the local community as well as developing the partnership with the school.  We are able to walk across the community in a group with our large stroller, visit the school library and have the chance to join in the group activities planned by our OSHC facility.

We offer families a strong involvement within our service with the opportunity to contribute to our daily practices.

OSHC (Out School Hours Care)

What do you do when your working day starts and school hasn't or when the school day has finished, but your working day hasn't? How do you keep your child busy during holidays? 

Out of School Hours Care can cater to 90 of our Pakenham Consolidated School students each session. This includes Before & After School Care, and Vacation Care. We have access to other areas of the school such as the Playgrounds, Gymnasium, Computer Lab, Performing Arts, and Master Chef Kitchen.  All of our programs are planned under the My Time, Our Place Frameworks.

Our services are subsidised by the Federal Government via the Child Care Scheme

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Before School Care is the perfect place for our early risers.  Children that arrive between 6:30am to 7:30am can enjoy a well-balanced breakfast and are given the opportunity to participate in activities and team games until 8:45am.

After School Care is always lots of fun. From 3:20pm to 4:00pm a complimentary well-balanced afternoon tea is provided with this session concluding at 6:30pm each evening. 

Educators collaborate with children to extend their life skills, and provide play and leisure opportunities that are meaningful while supporting their wellbeing learning and development.

Holiday Program
Holiday Program services begin at 6:30am and conclude at 6:30pm. Each day an exhilarating program is prepared including excursions away and incursions. Booking sheets are available at the OSHC building from the beginning of each school term. Be sure to book early to avoid any disappointment. A booking contract will be issued for each upcoming school holiday program. This contract will include an Activity Schedule, Information Pack and all necessary Contracts and Consent Forms.

OSHC Enrolment Form

When you complete the enrolment form for OSHC, select either ‘AM’ or ‘PM’. If you require before school care as well as after school care you need to complete 2 bookings.

Ensure your enrolment is completed as soon as possible to secure your bookings. NO bookings, including for Vacation Care, will be taken without a current enrolment.     

Please be sure to include ALL necessary documentation including Asthma and Allergy Plans, and a copy of your most current Immunisation Records.
