At Pakenham Consolidated we have developed an integrated curriculum through which the children learn skills, strategies and qualities necessary to lead a happy, rewarding and successful life. We have designed an integrated curriculum which stimulates creativity and curiosity and builds a sound foundation in literacy, numeracy and cognitive skills. This holistic way of teaching makes learning more meaningful for the students.
Developing the whole child is central to the learning program at Pakenham Consolidated. Students are provided with opportunities to investigate the world around them through investigating different themes or topics. This allows students to conduct research and real life learning tasks that help them to better understand their world. The development of research, communication, thinking and interpersonal skills are all essential components of the topics, ensuring that our students are developing the broad range of skills they will require for their future. Our Whole School topics promote communication across all areas of our school community. (eg, Students share their learnings at family meal times)
