Monday 25 May is a state wide curriculum day. This means that we will not be providing onsite supervision or remote and flexible learning on this day. If you require child care, our Out Of School Hours Care program will be working this day. Please book by calling the school and pressing 1.
All students who attend school will need to bring a named drink bottle with them. At this stage, we will not be using the outdoor drinking fountains.
FOUNDATION, YEAR ONE AND YEAR TWO STUDENTS RETURN TO PCS
Remote and flexible learning ends for these students on Friday 22 May. At this time all borrowed school iPads MUST be returned (as agreed to in the contract that was signed prior to the arrangement) as we will need to redistribute them to the classes to support the teaching and learning program as soon as possible. Borrowed iPads can be returned on Monday 25 May to the office, or Tuesday 26 May in your child’s bag to their classroom.
To assist with our ability to monitor the use of the play space and ensure adequate supervision, the school gates will not be open until 8:45am. At 8:45am, our Foundation students will enter through the front gate, near their play equipment. The Year One students will enter through the gate near the bike shed and Year Two students near the Wellbeing Centre.
Students will go straight to their classroom or to the Wellbeing Centre to get their ‘takeaway’ breakfast. At this stage, we will not be opening the gate near the traffic lights and encourage children to walk down Duncan Drive to enter the school. There will be staff monitoring the entry to the school and the pedestrian traffic around the school. While we normally welcome families and community members to our school, at this stage it is important to note that there are restrictions on access to the school site for anyone other than immediate school staff and students. Adults will be required to drop their children at the gate and not enter the school grounds. Any parents who need to enter the grounds will need to come to the office.
For the first two weeks back, the Year Two students will be dismissed at 3:15pm. At this time, they will either leave the school to go home, or go to the classroom of their younger siblings. The Foundation and Year One students will be dismissed at 3:20pm. Staff will be on duty at the gates and around the school. All children will need to use the crossings to cross any roads. Staff will be on duty in the gravel car park to assist students over there. Any student who is going to After School Care will go to the covered area between the Gym and Performing Arts Centre. No children will be permitted to wait at the office after school. If you require care after school, please book into OSHC.
The existing model of supervision for those students in Years 3-6 who are unable to be supervised at home, will continue. These students will be supervised by a staff member to enter the school through the driveway gate, to meet at the OSHC building at 8:50am.
YEAR 3-6 STUDENTS
Year 3-6 students will return to school on Tuesday June 9. They MUST bring any borrowed school iPads with them on this day. More information about their entry to school will be supplied closer to this date.
We thank you for your support and look forward to the return to face to face teaching and learning.
