Parent Permission—Student Mobiles & Other Valuables 2020

Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,

The new Ministerial Mobile Phone policy came into full effect at the beginning of this year. This policy states that mobile phones must be switched off and stored securely during the school day.

A growing number of students are bringing mobile phones and other technological items to school. I remind parents that School Council and school staff do not take any responsibility for such items, which are regularly misplaced or lost. If your child needs to travel with a mobile device we require your written permission confirming that you accept responsibility for loss or damage.

All Year Five and Year Six students who bring a mobile phone or other valuable item to school will need to check these in at the senior corridor before 8.55am and pick up after 3.20pm. All Year Three and Year Four students will need to bring their devices to the Administration office before 8.55am and pick up after 3.20pm. We hope that by putting in place these guidelines we can help to ensure that parent safety concerns are being respected while at the same time ensuring that valuable items are not being misplaced, lost or used inappropriately.

I thank you for your support. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly on 03 5941 1511.

Regards
Katrina Stewart
